Congress is behind this book: For Kip, his son, and families everywhere, Congress is committed to comprehensive food safety reform, and we will do it. We will not only do it on behalf of Chance, but also for the children and their parents everywhere our food safety system failed to protect. Congresswoman Diana DeGette Colorado, 1st District If you are in need of hope, if you could use a dose of inspiration, I highly recommend Second Chance. Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins Kansas, 2nd District
Author Kip Moore turned his son Chances near-death experience into a career of food safety advocacy culminating in the publication of his first book, Second Chance: The Story of a Fathers Faith, a Mothers Strength, and a Childs Will to Live, scheduled for a January 2010 release. Kip has partnered with 1st District Congresswoman Diana DeGette to strengthen U.S. laws governing the oversight of our food system. He has also collaborated with the organization Safe Tables Our Priority to bring issues of food-borne disease to the forefront of the publics consciousness.

Is my child going to die?No parent should have to ask this question. This book answers it. Second Chance, a new book coming January 2010, answers the question in a way that is both informative and heartwarming. It tells the story of an 18-month-old boy, Chance, who becomes critically ill after eating tainted beef while on a family vacation. What happens next is an inspiring true story of a childs will to live. How
safe is the food you serve your children?
This book examines these issues and discusses the threat of E. coli O157:H7 in easily understood terms. It gives parents the information about food-borne illnesses they need to keep their children safe so they dont have to ask the question, Is my child going to die?
