About the Author

Kansas native Kip Moore turned his son Chance’s near-death experience into a career of food safety advocacy culminating in the publication of his first book, Second Chance: The Story of a Father’s Faith, a Mother’s Strength, and a Child’s Will to Live. Kip passionately believes no parent should have to experience what he and his wife, Marti, did with Chance, and that passion permeates the pages of his book.

Food Safety Advocate

Now a resident of Colorado, Kip has partnered with 1st District Congresswoman Diana DeGette to improve and strengthen our nation’s laws governing the oversight of our food system. He has also collaborated with the organization Safe Tables Our Priority to bring issues of food-borne disease to the forefront of the public’s consciousness.

The Hope of a Colorado Family

Kip lives in Golden, Colorado with Marti and his children, Shannon, TJ, Loryn, and Chance. They hope that no other families have to endure what they did due to unsafe food.
